Ok, I know I haven't posted in awhile (once again)...but as you can see from the video above (seen on pc/laptop...some technical difficulty loading video on mobile---sorry), I did get a lot done before "El Nino" hit California. After giving the vintage Aristocrat trailer a new "skirt" (see prior post), I moved on to repairing the front and back corners that were riddled with rot. I also repaired any 1x2 framing and added extra structural reinforcements where needed with the handy Kreg Jig (
https://www.kregtool.com/).
I had a local guy who deals primarily with car sound and alarm electronics (
http://alamedaradioandalarm.com/) help replace any exposed wiring for the 12 volt and 110 systems. I also replaced the old fiberglass insulation with new reflectix insulation. Finally, I painted the aluminum skin with Rustoleum primer and then with White and Regal Red Rustoleum gloss paint. I polished the aluminum window frames, J rails, and bottom skirt.
After saying a few prayers (and a few choice words), she somehow came all back together in vintage awesomeness! I replaced all sheet metal screws with new stainless steel sheet metal screws I bought on Amazon (8 x 3/4" long sheet metal screws with a 1/4" hex nut head).
At this point she was christened "Ginger". I love the way she is turning out and soon will be gearing up to remove the tarp and continue the journey (I have the other sides still to do).
Below are still pics of some represented in the video above (for those who are having trouble viewing the video):
